Sending a 2015 shout out, and greetings to everyone, and all fly fishing angler’s. I have been fishing this great fishery, known as Pyramid Lake, home of the biggest in the world, the “Lahontan Cutthroat Trout." Situated on the land and home of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe people. At the onset of my annual trip to this wonderful lake, the bite was slow to barely good. However, As of the past week plus, I have been lighting it up, and catching good numbers and BIGG Lahontan cutthroat TRUCHA (trout in Spanish). The typical size run between 17 to 25 inches. The Bigg’s will start running 26 to 35 plus inches. These trophy’s are what I’m chasing and pursuing. In the meantime, every fish caught is always fun and exciting! The views at the lake are also captivating. I have been climbing up the size ladder this year, in pursuit of breaking my personal best of just under a 17 pounder. I’m hoping for the 18 pound plus monster. I started catching 5 and 6 pounders, than 7 to 11, then two days ago, a 15 pound, 35 inch male. No more 6 weight rod set-ups for me at this lake. I came locked and loaded with an 8 weight. I’m in the gym, and on the water Angler’s getting in shape for the upcoming 2015 California Eastern Sierra, and Crowley Lake opener, which starts April 25, 2015. Contact me now to book you guide trip for the upcoming season.
