Trucha Fly Fishing Guide Service (TFFGS) has had many years of personal lodging and/or camping experience at the following locations. I endorse and highly recommend these facilities for your lodging and/or camping needs while in the Sierras. If you do contact any of the following, please let them know that you were referred by David Carranza at TFFGS.
The Crowley Lake Fish Camp offers full hook-up camp sites and dry camping sites. There are 3 cabins located on the camp which are just awesome for yourself, family, friends. The cabins have a full bedroom, loft with two full size beds, couch, cable TV, full kitchen and utensils, linens, refrigerator, propane BBQ, and a fire pit. The cabins are very comfortable, and offer spectacular views of the lake and surrounding granite mountains. Check their website at www.crowleylakefishcamp.com
McGee Creek RV Park is another great camping facility just across the Highway 395 from Crowley Lake. McGee Creek flows from the mountain peaks down the middle of the camping facility and is always stocked with trout during the camping and trout season. The camp has full RV hook up sites and dry camping sites that sit on grassy areas which is great for tents and pop up Tents. These dry camping sites offer water only. McGee Creek RV has a well maintained bathroom and shower facility separately for men and women. The camp also offers free fire wood for campers only. What I enjoy most of this great RV Park are the 3 trout ponds on the site. Sitting around the ponds watching the fish slurp flies off the surface, watching the wild birds, and listening to the crystal clear, cold running water, while sipping on a beverage of your choice is just, well, therapeutic shall I say. The ponds are also open for public fishing on a fee payment scale. Check their website at www.mcgeecreekrv-campground.com
The Hilton Creek Cabin is a fantastic and quaint one bedroom cabin that is located above the town of Crowley. It is an all season cabin that sits right along side of Hilton Creek. You couldn't ask for a better lodging facility in my opinion, and you can't beat the lodging prices either. The location is surrounded by aspens and a natural high sierra running creek. It's truly an opportunity to lodge in natures beauty. The quaint cabin also has a small kitchen and dining area and a shower. There is an old firewood stove in the cabin to keep you warm during the cooler Sierra months. Ask for Isabel and please let them know you were referred by TFFGS!
